Δεῖμος καὶ Φόβος [Horror and fear]
Ferryman, ferryman,
I paid your heavy fee
take it off my eyes
let me see.
Show me a road out of nightmare city
though I run and run, I cannot flee
I don’t know where I am
why this maze of streets
indistinguishable concrete apartment blocks
painted penitentiary gray
office buildings defiant as castles
huge barred doors without knobs or latches
no addresses
no architecture of fame by architects of name
street signs blank sidewalks empty of people.
