So I’m four years old right? And my preschool class takes a field trip to another school in Waimanalo. Nalo is this little town along the windward side like 10 minutes away from Kailua. It has a couple decent surf spots. I mean, I used to spend all my afternoons at Sherwoods, and Bellows when it was open. Sherwoods has a nice break, nothing too big and it’s not too crowded with Makapu’u and Sandy’s right around the point. But it’s like, if you’re not from Nalo, or at least local haole, you really shouldn’t hang out there. It’s pretty and all but the locals aren’t cool with the tourists and shit even though they used to film Magnum PI right around the town. A few years ago, like ’98 or something, this local guy, Bumpy Kanahele, started this whole Sovereign Nation of Hawai’i thing with people living in tents on the beach.…
