Oleksiy lived near Cherkasy with what seemed to be a normal life. But Ukraine was under attack and he was headed for a terrible showdown. He joined the forces of the North which drove the Russians back from Kyiv.
Then Oleksiy’s units turned to Donbas in the East. Starving out the enemy and guerilla warfare seemed to be the strategy.
“What are we walking into?” Oleksiy asked.
“It’s not what we’re walking into, it’s what we will be facing,” the General said.
“What level of combat is it then?” asked Sergeant Vitaly.
“The fight there will be greater than what happened here. The line was punched deeper but was driven back. With that said, Vitaly, you will be stationed in the northwestern region close to Luhansk, Oleksiy near Kherson, and reserves in the center. Let’s move!”
